Are you renting a student room via Brik or MyKot? You’ll automatically use the MyKot model contract. This agreement is a safe, handy way to make the rent of your room in Brussels official.
A balance between the landlord and the student
In 2023, Brik launched a new model tenancy agreement that is largely inspired by the Brussels student housing tenancy agreement. And with that, Brik wants to guarantee affordability, provide clarity about contracts that expire and maintain the balance between the landlord renting out the property and the student tenant.
Every landlord who rents out their property via MyKot works with the MyKot model contract. This means you’re certain everything appearing in the contract is legal and that in the case of problems, you have the right to free mediation through the organisation behind MyKot.
How do you use it?
You just download a pro-forma copy of the model contract. If you make agreements with a landlord via the Chat function on MyKot, they can send you a pre-filled copy that you just need to read and sign.
